I know as you're writing your comment *you* know what you're responding to—maybe it's the article or video or maybe it's someone else's comment, but when people come to the page later and read the comments, it isn't always immediately clear what you're talking about. That way other commenters won’t be confused as to why you started talking about bad hair weather on a post about chocolate. It's easy to be mean while hiding behind the anonymity of the Web, but you shouldn't say anything you wouldn't say in person.įor example, instead of just starting out "Humidity is important too!" it's helpful if you start with some context like "User Squiggly1234 has a point about chocolate storage temperature, but has missed one important variable" and then go on to talk about humidity. Always remember there is a real person reading your comment. So aside from the pleasure you get from annoying people, you're wasting your time writing such comments. Nobody gives much credence to an obnoxious troll. I shouldn't have to tell you this, but comments that start out "You're an idiot," are laced with profanity, or are just plain disrespectful, undermine the authority of your argument. Both the safari and the climb were experiences that we will cherish forever. We highly recommend Mem to anyone considering climbing Mt. Thank you to Mem, and specifically to our crew, for making this such an incredible journey for us. Not only our crew of porters and guides, but also the other climbers we met along the trail. Kilimanjaro and also getting to know the wonderful people we were surrounded by. We had such an amazing time climbing and summiting Mt. It was a euphoric moment and the views were incredible. Our summit day was challenging, but with the help of our guides, we were able to reach Uhuru peak at 6:10am on August 19th. The 8-day route was very helpful in getting properly acclimated and we had very few symptoms of altitude problems. We had an incredible experience getting to know our crew as we made our way up Mt. We owe our summit success entirely to our encouraging guides, Mahamud and Abdul, and to the hard-working porters. There were three of us and 14 crew (porters and guides) that helped us get up the mountain. We had an 8-day climb using the Lemosho Route, which was a beautifully scenic route. When we woke up, there was an elephant right out front of the lodge!Īfter our safari, we departed for the main event to climb Mt. It featured a stone exterior and beautiful wooden patios connecting all parts of the lodge with amazing views of the crater. It was amazing! We stayed at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, which was absolutely beautiful. Both places were absolutely beautiful and we were able to see all of Africa's Big Five! Our safari guide, Gilbert, was extremely knowledgeable about all the wildlife we encountered and we were able to get up close to lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, and so many other animals. From there, we left for a two day safari at Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. We began our stay in Tanzania at a beautiful hotel in Moshi called Sal Salinero. Our group's experience with Mem tours was incredible.
